Show Review: Bad Suns at The Bowery Ballroom - June 18th, 2024
Words by Briana Perez
Celebrating their 10 Year Anniversary of their debut album, Language & Perspective,’ Bad Suns performed an electrifying show at The Bowery Ballroom! From the moment I stepped into the venue, I was in awe. I felt so much nostalgia seeing their iconic logo on stage! Middle school Bri would not believe what I was about to experience!
Kicking off the show with ‘20 Years,’ the boys of Bad Suns had the crowd (including myself) going wild! Keeping up with the energy, the band performed the album in its entirety, starting with ‘Matthew James,’ including one of their biggest hits “Cardiac Arrest” to (one of my personal favorites) “Rearview”!
I was most excited to experience “Sleep Paralysis” live and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Lead singer, Christo Bowman, surfed the crowd for the outro of the song and transitioned into ‘Rearview’ where he sang the song in the middle of the crowd.
Bad Suns had a packed setlist! The boys played several songs from their Disappear Here album, like “Baby Blue Shades,” “Heartbreaker,” and “Violet”! They even performed one of my favorite singles “This Was a Home Once’!
Language & Perspective was an essential part of my adolescence and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to witness a masterpiece live! This was my first time experiencing a Bad Suns show, and it definitely will not be my last!
